The largest, longest glacier in the Alps — a 23km river of ice, UNESCO World Heritage since 2001 — seen from a genuinely car-free mountain village reached only by cable car. Long drive, split by a free remote-work night in Besançon/Belfort each way.
The Grosser Aletschgletscher runs 23km from the Jungfrau-Mönch-Fiescherhorn ice dome down to the Massa Gorge — the longest and largest glacier in the Alps by both length and volume, and the heart of the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site (the first natural World Heritage listing in the Alps, inscribed 2001, expanded 2007 to 82,400 hectares). Nothing else in reach of a weekend from Paris shows you a glacier at this scale. The base villages — Bettmeralp and the wider Aletsch Arena — are genuinely car-free, reached only by cable car, which is rare enough to be worth the long drive on its own.

Load the bike inside (front wheel off, no range penalty). Drive out after work, charge once en route, arrive late. Free night at your Besançon/Belfort stay.
Full remote workday from the free stay. This is the night that makes the long trip realistic — no driving, no charging cost, just logging off ready for the second leg.
Cross into Switzerland, buy/display the vignette, and follow the A9 up through the Rhône valley to Fiesch — the base town in the valley below the Aletsch Arena cable cars (Betten is the alternative base a few km down-valley, feeding Bettmeralp instead). Settle in for the night.
Two-stage cable car from Fiesch up to Fiescheralp, then on to the Eggishorn viewpoint at 2,869m — widely regarded as the single best panorama of the glacier: the full 23km sweep of ice below, with the Mönch, Eiger and Jungfrau (all 4,000m peaks) behind it, and the Weisshorn, Matterhorn and Mont Blanc visible further west on a clear day. Walk part of the Aletsch Panoramaweg, the marked trail tracing the glacier's edge between Eggishorn and Bettmerhorn/Bettmeralp — one of the great high-altitude walks in the Alps, mostly easy gradients once you're up top. Splurge: a Walliser raclette or dried-meat platter dinner in Fiesch or Bettmeralp — the regional specialty meal for this trip.
Morning hike continuing the Panoramaweg (or the shorter Bettmerhorn side if you rode the Betten-side lift instead), maybe a spin on the flatter valley-floor bike paths near Fiesch before packing up. Drive back to the Besançon/Belfort stay by evening.
Second remote workday, free night again, breaking the return drive exactly as the outbound leg did.
Home in time for Wednesday.
