Calais to Dornie is roughly 1,170 km, on top of the ~290 km from Meudon-la-Forêt to Calais — call it ~1,460 km one-way, spread over 3 days each way rather than attempted in one push.
The same England Supercharger chain applies: Maidstone/Ashford (Kent), Rugby or Corley Services (M6), and Southwaite Services (M6, south of Carlisle). Real, well-known free spots reported on park4night and among NC500/Skye-bound travellers: informal lay-bys along the A87 beside Loch Duich near Ratagan and Shiel Bridge, with loch and Five Sisters views right from the car; the car park at Morvich (the National Trust for Scotland's Kintail base and the main trailhead for the Five Sisters and the Falls of Glomach), where quiet overnight stays are commonly reported; and the Glen Shiel viewpoint lay-by on the A87, a large pull-off looking straight up at the ridge. As always: arrive late, leave early, park considerately, take everything with you.
The castle itself was a ruin for over 200 years after being destroyed in a 1719 Jacobite-era bombardment by government ships, and was rebuilt from 1912–1932 by Lieutenant Colonel John MacRae-Gilstrap — so the "medieval" castle everyone photographs is largely a faithful 20th-century reconstruction on genuinely 13th-century foundations. Early start, motorway run to Calais-Coquelles, load onto the Shuttle. Keep left from the moment you land in Kent. With this car's real-world range, a stop right off the Shuttle at Maidstone/Ashford is an optional top-up rather than a must; Rugby or Corley, further up the M6, is the one Supercharger stop you'll likely actually need on this leg. The A82 through Glencoe is one of the great driving roads in Britain. Charge to 100% at Fort William — it's your last Supercharger before Kintail. Overnight nearby if daylight is running short.
Drive up Glen Shiel with the Five Sisters ridge filling the windscreen for the last stretch, arriving at Dornie. Visit the castle — walk the stone footbridge onto the tidal island, tour the restored state rooms, and take the classic photo from the roadside viewpoint just north of the bridge. Set up camp at a Loch Duich layby or Morvich for the nights ahead.
Trailhead is from the A87 in Glen Shiel (informal parking, no fee) or via Morvich. If the weather or your legs aren't up for the full ridge, the lower shoulder of Sgurr nan Saighead still gives spectacular views back down Loch Duich to the castle for a fraction of the effort.

Kintail weather is as unreliable as the rest of the Highlands — keep a spare day for whichever plan got rained out, or use it to explore the nearby Falls of Glomach (one of the highest waterfalls in Britain, a serious approach walk in its own right) or the ancient brochs at Glenelg. Given Eilean Donan sits directly on the road to both, this is also the natural point to extend into the Isle of Skye trip (just over the bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh) or the Applecross Peninsula trip (via Lochcarron) if you want to combine two or three of these Highland files into one longer expedition.
Retrace the route south down Glen Shiel and through Glencoe. Overnight near Glasgow to break up the return drive.
The long haul home: Ecclefechan and Corley/Rugby are the two stops you'll likely need, with Southwaite and Maidstone/Ashford available as optional extra buffer, especially if splitting this into two days. Shuttle or ferry back across the Channel, and the final motorway run to Meudon. Most people will want to split this into two days rather than one very long one.
Kintail is fundamentally a hiking-and-driving trip — the Five Sisters ridge is walkers-only terrain, and the single-track roads around Dornie are quiet enough for a relaxed spin but don't offer much dedicated off-road riding. The bike earns its keep on an easy loop around Dornie village and along the shore of Loch Long, or as transport at a campsite.
